My weight and me.

What happens when you believe that you're failing to live up to people's expectations of you? Is it really other peoples expectation...

Being a rubbish blogger!

Ooops! I really haven't kept up with this blog the way that I had intended, but sometimes, with work, kids, housework, life just generally gets in the way of things like writing.
Rather than write a big long breakdown of all the recent events I'm going to use this post to reflect upon my thoughts instead.
Sometimes it can be a little lonely, when besides your family, all the friends you're closest to live inside a tiny hand held gadget. Especially when having a good old gossip with them, pouring your heart out, or reflecting on life's issues together gets you in trouble with the family you love the most :-/
You see I use my iPhone A LOT and this can get me in trouble with my mum and my husband, but mostly I am texting a friend, using what's app, or sharing Facebook messages with friends, without these forms of communication my only friends are my my immediate family and life can then get lonely!
Don't get me wrong, I have friends I can message to arrange a catch up should I wish to, but I've had close friendships disintegrate over the past 18 months taking with them other even closer friendships and now my thoughts are centred on how wrong I could have been about people and my perception of the relationships we once shared.
So for now it's about finding a happy medium, the balance between keeping my close long distance friendships and also not annoying my family with my favoured form of communication (which ironically I am sat posting this from my iPhone whilst the hubby just tuts! Woops!)
I'd rather have long distance friendships with people I can completely trust and share everything with, than real-life friends who have me wondering if I can even trust them anymore and questioning what we had in common that made us friends in the first place!

Yikes - no blog for a week

I'm starting this blog off a bit rubbish aren't I lol! My intentions were to blog a little bit on a daily basis but life seemed to get in the way what with working, school runs, housework and kids theres never enough hours in the day!
I started last week off with an asthma attack, it scared me a bit as I was getting close to asking hubby to take me the hospital when my breathing eventually eased a bit. Then the next few days were spent getting back into the swing of things with work and the school runs whilst trying to juggle the housework and washing etc too!
Sadly the place isn't as spotless as I'd planned to keep it, but once the clean folded washing is in drawers and not on my settee and the toys tidied away to my standards and not the kids idea of tidy, then we'll be back on track again!
It was nice to get the tree down and all the decorations and see what the room looked like now everything's moved around after Christmas Eve's radiator disaster that forced us into a major spring clean and shift around of the furniture! Just what we were NOT planning for our nice relaxed Christmas Eve!!!
Anyway I'm off again - I have an hour to myself before I have to go to work again so I'm going to enjoy it if I can! X

January 1st

So it's the first day of 2012 and my first official blog post of 2012
We had two invites to small parties to see the New Year in, one from my sister and one from luca's sister. So we headed out to spend an hour with each with the intention of being home by 10:30 to get the kids to bed :)
Funny how it never quite ends up that way though isn't it!! We went to Lucas sisters around 8:20pm, and spent almost 2 hours drinking and chatting with family and friends. We then headed on to my sisters and despite our intentions we ended up staying there till after midnight and bringing in the New Year with her, Ste, Max and some of her friends. Lots of drinks, few nibbles and a great night. The girls were well behaved, the conversation and drinks flowed equally well. It was a lovely way to spend the evening.
I got a rare lie in this morning, till 10am, which meant we missed church. Luca cooked us breakfast and we had my mum coming round for lunch for a big roast dinner.
After lunch we snuggled on the couches together and watched Disney's Tangled, then Eve wanted to set Chinese lanterns off for Rapunzels birthday so Luca and the girls set a few off from the garden.
After a visit from luca's mum and dad, my mum headed home and the girls had the quickest bath ever cos Eve decided to wee in it lol!
Now I'm chilling and reflecting on my day whilst poor Luca wrestles the girls to bed. It's definitely time to get back into the early night routine ready for school this week again.
All in all not a bad start to the year, apart from the odd bit of bickering, a spot of attitude from Lib and what feels like constant tidying to keep the place looking nice!!
